Styrofoam Hat Portrait Printmaking

This was a fun project. The 6th graders used styrofoam sheets & watercolors to create these imaginative prints. I had a box of hat photographs for ideas & surprisingly, the kids didn't use them. Instead, most of them used their imaginations to create their art. I thought it was interesting that so many children wanted to incorporate different culture into their work.

Stamp Printmaking

The 8th graders designed their on stamps using Mastercarve Blocks & lino tools. They had to have 4 stamps that related to each other or told a story.
Then they used them to create pattern, emphasis, and experimented with color overstamping.

The 7th graders did these!
We started out doing contour line drawings of our shoes & then deciding where our shoes would "live". Fantastic!

Preschool Printmaking

I teach a preschool art class one a week at a local preschool. We did printmaking today.
The kids loved it!
They even learned new words like "acetate" & "brayer" & "printing plate".
We did monoprints, veggie prints & glue relief prints.
